For who is the multihead weigher suitable?
A multihead weigher is the ideal solution for customers who want to package hardware at high speeds, up to 50 boxes/sachets per minute. If you require lower speeds (< 12 per minute), we would advise our linear weighers.
In addition to hardware, a multihead weigher is also suitable for handling a wide variety of general cargo for the chemical and food sectors, such as candy, nuts, or pet food.
How does the multihead weigher work?
Your product is automatically transported from the feed bunker and feed chute to the vibrating middle disc. This is equipped with an adjustable pre-weighing system, which allows the product level to be accurately determined. For optimal operation, it is essential that products are properly separated and continuously supplied. To ensure this, the infeed chute can be doubled to create an optimal spread of products.
Then the middle disc doses products evenly in the different hoppers by means of vibrations. These are equipped with their own vibrating feed chute featuring a stock hopper at the end. Once the preset weight is reached, the shut-off valve opens, and the product is transferred to the weighing hopper.
Every weighing aims to obtain an even combination of weights – for this reason, a multihead weigher is also known as a ‘combination weigher’. After finding the right combination, partial weights are deposited in the collecting funnel and fed to the filling station as a final weight, via the timing hopper.
